Auditor Conversion Process FSC 2 (Indoor Growing and Harvesting of Fresh Produce and Sprouted Seed Crops)

With the publication of Edition 9 there are some changes to the Food Sector Categories and their respective applications to the food safety codes. Specifically, FSC 2 was created to align with the new Indoor Agriculture module 18 and added to the Primary Plant Production code. Sites and certification bodies will be required to change FSC assignments in Repositrak accordingly during the re-certification scoping process. See Appendix 2 of the code for a full description and examples of products that will assist in the scope changes required. The SQF customer service team can assist if there are issues with Repositrak conversion.

Auditor conversion and application process:

FSC 2 – Auditors with existing FSC 3 & 4 designations are eligible if they have the audit experience pertaining to indoor agriculture.  The attached excel file includes the following instructions that as CB’s you are required to communicate to your auditor and assist as necessary to support this conversion process:

This application is for auditors that would like to be considered to audit in FSC 2: Indoor Growing and Harvesting of Fresh Produce and Sprouted Seed Crops.

To be considered, an auditor shall meet the following requirements:

1. Be qualified in FSC 3 & 4
2. Provide evidence of 160 audit hours in indoor growing and harvesting of fresh produce and sprouted seed crops (tab 2). OR
3. Provide evidence of 2 years industry work experience in indoor growing and harvesting of fresh produce and sprouted seed crops (tab 3).

Please speak with your certification body for the application. 

The deadline for submitting this application is June 30th.  After that date, the auditor must process the application online through Exemplar Global and pay the applicable ‘upgrade’ fee.

Submitted applications will be promptly reviewed, approved and/or rejected. These results will be communicated directly to the auditors and/or designated CB and their profile updated with Exemplar Global and subsequently Repositrak.
